The University Writing Center was founded to support writing as one of the key skills valued at the University of Connecticut. Writing is our shared intellectual language – the common practice of students and faculty, of learning and teaching, of theory and application.
This year we invite you to visit us, to make use of our resources, and to become part of our writing community.
For faculty, we have a schedule of workshops that offer practical tips and strategic thinking about writing and teaching. We also have several initiatives afoot -- including a new Writing Fellows program – designed to provide direct, discipline-specific support for you in the classroom.
For student writers, we offer individualized tutorial sessions designed to support you at every stage of the writing process. We’re also continually adding to our UConn-specific writing resources, many of which are available through this website.
The Writing Center is also active in several community partnerships with area high schools, and sponsors a range of research on academic writing.
Please explore our website to find out more about what we do, and how we can support your work and your writing here at UConn. Better yet, please visit us in person – at one of our workshops, in a tutorial, or just to have a conversation – and become a part of our writing community.
Sincerely,
